Challenger Games:
On behalf of Airdrie Little League I would like
to thank the players and coaches who volunteered to help at
the Challenger games. Guys, you did a fantastic job and I hope
you will remember what a great feeling you got from aiding
such a worthy cause. I hope you won't hesitate to get involved
again. I spoke with the organizers after the games, David,
Jason and Kathleen Spratt and they told me that Airdrie is one
of the best volunteer groups on a yearly basis. We show up
with a good number of volunteers and have fun with the
players. I saw lots of smiles and was very impressed with your
patience and encouragement. Kidos to you guys for a job well
done. Also thank you to the parents for getting the boys there
on time. I hope you are as impressed as I am by the efforts
put forth by your kids.
In no particular order are the names of the
players and coaches who helped make it a good day for these
special kids playing in the Challenger League.

Due to
insurance purposes of Airdrie Little League, Open Gym Time is
restricted to current registered players of Airdrie Little

We
cannot have unregistered players attending our Open Gym Time.
While it might be a bit of a burden, the names of those

Well we have another ball season behind us! Or do we?
First off I'd like to thank all the players, parents, and
coaches who supported Airdrie Little League throughout the
year! I hope your families enjoyed the season, and I
encourage each and every single one of you to take part
again next season!
We are going to try something new this year. In the
higher divisions they have a summer ball program, and it's
been mentioned we should consider doing the same. If you
feel your child would enjoy extending their baseball season,
and you'd like to see them further develop their skills,
please email
Bill Copeland
(wcopeland27@hotmail.com).
If there is enough interest we certainly can do this!
Preliminary discussions are suggesting that it would be
one game per week (at Fletcher Park) and one or two
practices a week. As for cost, that has not been determined
yet if there will be any. It all depends on how formal of a
league we'd like.
If this is something you and your child would be
interested in just reply to this email and we will see how
big we can go!
Regards,
Bill Copeland

Coaches Comments:
Jake is a "special
need" kid who I took on this year who has been a
inspiration to all his teammates, parents and the league,
It does not matter if he strikes out, makes a bad play,
there is always a smile on his face. In our last game he
went 3 for 3, and it was one of the few times that I saw
parents from both sides stand up and cheer. Coach: Rob

Player of the Week:
(for the last 2 weeks)
Player:
Riley Schaaf / Josh Haire
Team:, Junior Airdrie 2
Coaches Comments:
Pitcher Perfect, Complete Game by Riley
Schaaf. Game ended after 4 innings due to mercy rule. 10
Strike-outs, 1 ground ball to Riley who assisted on out,
one pop-up to Riley, so he really go all 12 outs.
Josh Haire went 4 for 4, plus a walk.
2 doubles, a single, and a home run that has not landed
yet. 5 RBI's in an 8 - 2 win.
