Airdrie Little League will commence the
Senior League on or about April 21, 2008 in conjunction with all
other District # 3 Senior Little League organizations. There will
also be various regular season tournaments available to be played
throughout the District in May and June 2008. Any Senior team may
elect to participate in these tournaments, at the discretion of the
Coach and consensus of team members. Please be advised that there
may be additional fees required to cover the entry costs of such
tournament play.
Senior players will be drafted by the
President and Vice President in conjunction with the Senior Division
Head Coaches, onto a team under a process that serves to balance
each team to a collective skill level, in the interest of fair and
competitive play.
Like the 2007 season, the weekly game
schedule will be comprised of other District # 3 Little Leagues and
may involve both weekday evening and weekend games. Players may be
expected to play weekend double-header games from time to time, to
facilitate make-up games due to rain-outs, etc. Practice is
mandatory and will be scheduled in conjunction with game schedules.
This division is to play 18 regular season games followed by a
playoff round at the end of June 2008. All players are required to
arrive at the diamond at least one hour prior to game time for
warm-up practice.
Player evaluations will be conducted
for Senior baseball by the second week of April. It is the
responsibility of each player registered to monitor the Little
League Website or inquire for the venue and timing of player
evaluations. After evaluations the League will enter into a player
draft selection process for each team. Each player will then be
immediately contacted by their respective Coach to advise them on
pre-season practice and game schedules. All 15 - 16 year old players
will automatically make a Senior team. Dependant upon the number of
Senior teams registered within Little League District # 3, a seeding
round may take place at the beginning of the season. If this
happens, once the seeding round is over, District # 3 will then
place each team in a regular season schedule to play with other
District # 3 teams of a similar skill caliber for competitive and
fair play.
All Senior Division home games will
be played at the East Lake “Lower” baseball diamond.
